SpineServ Supports MedTech Scholarship to Foster the Next Generation in Medical Technology

Ulm, May 5, 2025 – SpineServ GmbH & Co. KG, a partner company within the CERTANIA network, has joined forces with Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU) to support the newly established Ulm MedTech Scholarship. This initiative aims to secure the future of medical innovation by attracting and developing highly qualified young professionals for the medical technology sector.

Through its role as a founding partner of the scholarship, SpineServ not only contributes financially but also supports a student specializing in implant testing with a focus on endoprosthetics. This dual approach—financial support combined with practical exposure—reflects SpineServ’s commitment to long-term excellence and innovation in the medical device field.

A Bridge Between Academia and Industry
The Ulm MedTech Scholarship is designed for students in THU’s Master’s program “Medical Devices – Research and Development.” In addition to a monthly grant of €300, scholarship recipients gain valuable experience through project work, professional development opportunities, and the option to complete their final thesis in collaboration with their sponsor company.

This unique collaboration creates mutual value: students gain insight into real-world challenges in medical technology, while participating companies engage with emerging talent early in their careers.

“With the Ulm MedTech Scholarship, students receive financial support and early insights into their future work environment,” said Prof. Dr. Felix Capanni, program director and scholarship initiator. “Companies, in turn, benefit from early access to future specialists and leaders.”

“By investing in young talent, we not only strengthen our own industry, but also contribute to a more resilient and innovative healthcare landscape. This partnership reflects SpineServ’s long-standing commitment to excellence and progress,” said Dr. Annette Kienle, Managing Director of SpineServ.

SpineServ joins other regional MedTech leaders such as Beurer, THERA-Trainer, ulrich medical, and Zimmer MedizinSysteme in backing this initiative.

Commitment to Talent and Innovation

As part of CERTANIA’s global network, the company is deeply committed to quality, reliability, and supporting innovation through talent development.
